  4. If you are unaware, Machito was THE top innovator of the Latin Jazz genere that saw its rise in the forties and fitites. This is a ive recording of the band at the Crescendo, a famous jazz night spot in the early 60's before it moved on to rock n roll. The quality is excellent and the band is at the top of it's game here, lots of energy/5(7).
  5. Machito!!!, on the Dutch label Timeless, is classic Machito, albeit in modern style and with the master's failing cerpiasawrimicnewsswifenranjadecom.coinfor s salsa or Latin big-band, dance-orchestra bombast, the sound is distinctly Machito; but the voice, struggling as it is, sounds less like the Machito of old than one would hope. There is no heavy Latin jazz or ground-breaking playing here, just the first-class.

  7. Soul of Machito" was produced by George Goldner, who at this time had big success with the boogaloo craze on his Cotique-label. So, this recording is special because it's not sounding like Machito's many Tico albums from the first part of the '60s. No feature for Graciela, but she is heard PROMINENTLY AND CLEARLY in the "coro".5/5(3).
